Resurs Family named winner in comparison with grocery retailers’ credit cards

“A clear winner among grocery credit cards.” That is the conclusion as Swedish daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, with the help of comparison site Kortio, compares credit cards from grocery chains Coop and ICA with Resurs Family.

Resurs Family is Resurs Bank’s new credit card with no annual fee, combining payments, savings and financial security while providing a clear overview of both purchases and expenses.

The comparison is based on a family of two adults and two children spending SEK 8,440 per month on groceries. By combining Resurs Family with a Coop membership, the annual bonus amounts to SEK 3,413. Without a grocery retailer membership bonus, the annual bonus with Resurs Family amounts to SEK 1,013.

From the comparison: “Resurs Family is not a dedicated grocery credit card, but it can still offer a higher bonus than the grocery chains’ own cards. The card offers 1 percent cashback at retailers classified by Mastercard as grocery stores or fuel stations. At other types of retailers, the cashback rate is 0.5 percent. Cardholders can earn up to SEK 1,500 in cashback per year. The card has no annual fee.”

With Resurs Family, families can choose to pay at their next payday or split purchases into interest-free instalments for up to six months, with no setup or monthly fees. With up to 1% cashback on everyday purchases, money is automatically deposited into a savings account linked to the card, earning 3% interest on balances of up to SEK 20,000. This makes saving a natural part of everyday life, without any extra effort. The card can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

– We launched Resurs Family because we saw that many families are looking for solutions that create greater financial balance and reduce stress in everyday life. The idea is simple: family finances should have a little more room to breathe, without it costing extra to ask for a little more time. The comparison by SvD and Kortio clearly shows that Resurs Family really is the strongest offering on the market when it comes to meeting families’ needs, says Magnus Fredin, CEO of Resurs.

About the comparison: “SvD provides guidance in a series of articles about different credit cards and how they suit different types of spending. The data has been compiled with the help of comparison site Kortio, an independent service with no affiliation to any card issuer.”
